it is a big topic and i do not think we coudl write here with a long article. General speaking, moving from Canada to US is a moving from a country to another country, not a moving from a city to another city, like Toronto to San Jose. This is the advice I gave another friend who asked me whether they should move to US. From driver license, health insurance, SSN application, to H1B or Green Card application. TN visa could help you a little, but you need renew your driver licence when TN is expired. You have no freedom to change a job without a TN renew.

For your parents, what visa they will have to come with you to US, will you buy the health insurance for them in US ?
