I know nothing about either Fang or Tang, but...

that does not hold me back from piping up. And I suppose that I don't need a formal reason or even a lame excuse. Pressed, I will offer up this: My name is qianzou.

1. Both Fang and Tang are a genius in their own ways. But for that, they would not have achieved their respective fame and notoriety as they have.

2. The line between extraordinary successes and fantastic failures is often a very thin one. To reach the pinnacle of either, it takes more than the work of pea-sized brains of the ordinary (I offer myself as an example of the latter).

3. It is easy for us be armchair psychologists or sideline judges. It is much less so to suit up and be on the opposite end of this one-sided contest, especially when the opponents cannot be present to make their case.

Do I now feel better for having emptied my chest? Not exactly. That would take a couple more glasses of decent wine on this scorching day here in the Rocky Mountain West.
