Perfection Is a Fool's Fruitless Pursuit

Perfection Is a Fool's Fruitless Pursuit

It could be easier
Much easier
If only we remembered to remind ourselves that
Nobody is perfect
And we all are prone to trip up here and there

It should be easier
Much easier
What it takes to extricate ourselves from a delicate situation
Often involves nothing more than a simple acknowledgment -
“We are all human, and humans err.”

We ought to have known better
Except we just don’t
We pledge to do better next time around, knowing
There will be many a next time
And next time will surely make everything whole again

Life is short
Way too short not to indulge oneself every once in a while
As one ad tagline puts it -
“Live a little.”
And try to enjoy it
