To 真絲馬甲: sth I learned from my group

just read your last post about A. It seems he is a very competent person. You did not get along with him because you are still thinking of fighting with him for power. If what you said in that post is real, you have very little chance to win directly. this A is obviously an ambitious person. At the moment he is fighting with you to establish his role from technical perspective. But his goal would be much higher, may be higher than your boss. Here is an evil idea that may help you win.

1. stimulate fight between your boss and A. Don't pick side. stay neutral and get in touch with even higher level so that once the fight between your boss and A escalates to big boss’ level, you will be the last one standing without any fault. with A being so vocal and technically capable, it is not too much of an extrapolation to say that your boss will feel unsafe. You need to be submissive to A and your boss, become their confidante and make ally with both. In the mean time, try to get in touch with your boss' boss.

2. align with your boss very well and pick your boss' side when he fights with A. He will think of ways to deal with A and you will be his weapon. A is not going to tolerate your boss' abuse for too long and will leave. One drawback here is that if your boss is not strong enough and eventually A wins, you'd better leave immediately.
