I don't agree

I work in a group of 12, with 4 Chinese (including me). There is one female and 3 males. I think we got along better than people with other background. We are very sincere to each other, and we are closer to each other very naturally. After all, we have the simliar background. I am new in this group, I have received many helps, especially from our Chinese peers (including the nice Chinese lady).

In here, many Chinese people tend to complain about the problems with other Chinese people, male or female. I did it too. But then I aware, I am a Chinese too. Instead of complaining, or trying to differenctiate yourself from other Chinese people, why can't we just start from ourselves? be sincere to everyone, especially to our peer Chinese, be professional, avoid discrimination, especially towards the group of people in which you are a member too.

I appreciate my peer Chinese in the group a lot. they may not good at corporate politics, but all of them are very capable technically. All of them have lend me a helping hand. I got more help from them than from any other people with other cultural background. I got help both at work and with personal business.

I am a Chinese, I have the merits many Chinese have and I believe I share the same problems many of us have too. Many people complain about our peer Chinese, because we know Chinese people better than anyone else, we know our problems, But we don't know other people's problem because people tend to hide their problems, it is not easy to spot them in a short period of time. I had a hell experience with a white landlord, she is completely a low life. She was well-educated, but that did not prevent her from being a complete ass-hole (sorry for this).

So, please don't sterotype people, especially our own people. What do you think is the reason that Chinese people don't coorporate with each other. The attitude you expressed here is one of the major reasons. So, please think positively, Chinese is an excellent group of people, we should be proud of our ethnic background and with everyone's effort, we can make our ethnic image even better. Do your share, I am doing mine. Other people's problems should not be your excuse to anything you should do.
