老板說他的母親要逝世了， 我應該怎麽回應

被老板批評了一通我最近的工作。
最後他說他未來幾個星期會有時在有時不在，
老板說他的母親要逝世了，
我應該怎麽回應，除了＂I AM SORRY TO HEAR THAT。。。＂
以外？
我當時就說了這麽一句話＂I AM SORRY TO HEAR THAT。。。＂
