黃國人，請幫我weight the benefit and risk

(1)resume shows that I am not currently working. Potential employer requested my recently boss's reference, but I am not able to provide. I can only provide my previous two company's references.

(2)resume shows that I am currently working. But background check shows that I left the company 2 months ago.

HuangGuoRen, can you help me to weight the benefit and risk to see which way is better? Thanks for your help!
