shall I follow up?

上周四一公司要求提供references.周五公司HM回複如下：

Thank you for the references. Can I call them during today some time or should I wait until this evening. As I mentioned, this is the final step prior to reaching a decision of whom to make an offer, so I would like to do this today as I am on plane tomorrow.

回複可以，並且也聯係了references通知可能有人聯係。現在還沒有得到回複，請問這種情況下我應該耐心等待還是需要再follow up?謝謝
