Foxconn mainly manufactures in China; in 2007 it employed 450,000 people there and was China's largest exporter. Beginning in 1994, Foxconn purchased development centers in the United States and Japan. The years 1998 and 1999 saw the establishment of additional manufacturing plants in the UK and the US.
