My 2 cents:
1. Show your boss how much you enjoy what your are doing;
2. Smile, smile, smile + be polite + nice. Say hi to everyone even they do not say hi back;
3. Show your willingness to work overtime to get the job done.
4. Improve your technical skills. You may need to do a lot of reading and research on your own time just to get ahead.
5. I guess you are hired by a CPA firm and will be do tax work.
