I'm struggling with someone else's damn messy code

everything is highly coupled, when i want to reuse some logic from existing code, i actually have to pregenerate lots surrounding objects to make the that method callable.

the author of the code is senior. i guess when coding, he had no idea of design/test driving/re-usability.

the guy evolves lots of design work of system too, but he always forgot what he's said just 2 days ago. he'd came up different answers for same questions. i don't trust him anymore, i trust data.

everything he said, i need run query against live database to verify it which make my job extremely hard

so bad/disappointing.

i don't want to have him take responsibility for what he's said and bring it to upper-management if something bad happens. he's nice, but not good developer.....
