This is one of the reasons I think we need to be very careful. They’re friends from college (>10 yrs) and relationship has always been good. His friend is pretty senior and doesn’t need my hubby’s help to land a job he wants. My hubby got to know he’s looking around and wants to refer him to his boss. I don’t agree because of potential competition issues. Sometimes it is not something you can control. For example, if there’s limited funding for projects, each team may compete for their own and there’ll be winners and there’ll be losers. It may be good, positive competition, but things can also get pretty ugly as there are so many people and so many factors involved. I’m not sure if my hubby is prepared for all the complicated issues.
