I did not lie 6 years ago when I was canned although I did so much great things to that employer.

I told my later employer right away that I was laid off. It is downturn, downturn, not my fault.I did join that #1 chip maker.

As long as you have solid credential, you will find another job. No risk to lie although you don't have to tell them by yourself.
