Thanks for the story! This firm does not do tax or bookkeeping service, the core business is audit with some complexities and decent size clients. It is not so easy to quit and start my own business. Also I am restrained by the non-competing agreement that I signed 8 years ago. It will be hard for me to start my own practice or even go to another CPA firm in this area.
I am interested in managing a business, but so far I have been only working on professional service. I guess a couple of years of paid training in business operation and network building will not hurt.
