The comanpy is a supplier of phosphorus chemicals, phosphoric acid, and phosphate salts, producing a complete line of phosphorus and derivative products in the industry. They are adding a PhD Research Chemist to their staff in the St Louis, MO area. The position pays up to $110,000 and there is relocation assistance.
This person will:
• Research and development with primary emphasis on food phosphates
• Develop expertise in testing methodology critical to phosphate salts
• Translate product functionality, characteristics and chemistry, including synthesis as it relates to new product development and application opportunities
• Interface with manufacturing for new product development that will include product trials and scale up
• Provide technical support for customer-focused projects and assist in resolving product quality issues
• Work closely and communicate technical information effectively with other departments and teams
• Provide documentation through written reports and technical presentations
· Provide training to Sales Reps, Distributors, other employees, etc. as needed
To qualify a person needs:
· PhD in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field
• 5-7 years experience in inorganic synthesis and characterization, Material Science.
• 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing - synthesis
• Excellent presentation skills, and written and oral communication skills-good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Additional skills:
• Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and creative skills
• Demonstrated ability to work and contribute to a team setting
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
· Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation,and scientific methods.
