You may have to patiently demonstrate that you are trustworthy, which are reflected in how you carry yourself and carry out your work on daily bases, not only to your boss but also to your coworkers (remember people talk). You should not be preoccupied with recognitions or that would affect your attitude at work. Only foolish people believe that other people (including their bosses) are stupid. They know how you are doing and they will reward you with money and title when you are in the position. As an employee, your work and work completed are simply expected (i.e. you are being utilized). As an adult, why would you care much about praises?
