Glad to know that you've been in a similar situation.
I know my bosses won't be sincerely "supportive" but they normally do whatever politically collect. In my case, they'll at least let me apply and maybe give good recommendations.
Regarding compensation, I do not expect to be as lucky as you. Might be a small raise but no big pop as I'm already compensated as mgr (w/o report) at HQ.
Culture wise, I know there will be big change but do not know how big it might be. From my channels, it seems the CEO is competent and well respected and the hiring director is a open communicator. But we'll see.
