my suggestion...

1. well, with 19 years there as Sr. you have SOLID backgroud there include your people link(s) and know HOW to play the game(s);
2. try to have a lunch with your mgr and "remaind" him something that you very concern -- easy one first: my kind... then, if you both can talk a bit more with the SAME tune, then get to the topic: e.g. some time a ago, Mr. A talked to his mgr's boss.... then see his reaction...
3. make an ajustment after #2 above and see what direction that you should/be better go...
