I know many people in US job market have similar experience, you can
1. sue the company (join the 對公司不滿的老黑?), best possible result get negotiation and compensation.
2. no need to tell next employer you are 'fired', just 'group dismay' or group-cut. Not all the employers check background to level of last termination.
