A friend of mine had similar situation - forced to quit the job. His UI claim was verified with the company and got denied by the county. So he appealed. In the interview with the county judge and HR rep from the company, he was asked to provide why he had to quit the job if he was not fired. The situation was, in fact, he was terminated because he didn't accept his very poor performance evaluation. But his claim was eventually denied because he was not considered as fired. If you quit your job, no matter under what circumstance, your claim for UI will be denied. I hope the letter from the manager asking you to resign can be as the proof for the case.
