I prepared a backup MS of CE when I was reading my biomed PhD. I did receive a few postdoc offers from top professors in top 5 schools but rejected them all and changed my career to IT.

It's a big pain to waste so many years of efforts. Even after so many years, I still think I lost my golden years in biology.
