May be it is just because of budget cut.

Our university will not renew any lecturer contract in Fall 2009. Some one has three year contrcat, if the contract has not end, they will be assigned classes in Fall.

In Department meeting, professors feel it is wired since lecturers are low cost compared to professor teaching the course. But our department will hire more TAs.
