2. If he determined to go back to China, he needs to do some homework first.
a) If he is over 40 years old, chances of becoming a professor in a Chinese university are really slim.
b) If he wants to join CRO, he'd better have some experience working in an industrial setting or collaborating with an R&D research group of a US company.
c) Does he have connections back in China? I am talking about his classmates, colleagues, or collaborators. Those network would give him great network opportunities, job opening leads, and information/advice on moving back to China as an expatriate.
The bottomline: Make a prepared move. Not a desperate one.
