I'll let you know my case when background check is done

I was in the same situation as yours and I didn't tell the interviewer that I got laid off. It was a lot more difficult than I thought not to tell the truth as the guilt got stronger every time when the interviewer assumed that I was still working. I accepted an offer way before my official termination date is up. Now it's in a background check and I am crossing my finger that there won't be an issue. All the offers I got were higher than my previous salary, but from my experience it's not worth the worrying.
