unless you are applying for technical expert role - even for that, leadership/communication skills are still, if not more, important.
you probably want to get a book on writing resume and do an assessment of your skillsets.another thing about landing an industry job is networking.
I wouldn't hide the Ph.D. degree, just be ready to answer the question, why do you want this job?
