Bad. Layoffs in tens of thousands. Better stay at school

Many seasoned Chinese expats are going home for better opportunities while they last. Unless you have an impeccable pedigree, there is almost no job for a fresh Ph.D. like you. Finding a postdoc position is tougher, too, as a result of the current employment trend. But if you work on research related to energy, new materials, or stem cells, you are in luck, thanks to President Obama and his economic stimulus policies.
