1) You are putting the cart in front of the horse. To be a manager does not require an MBA degree. Having an MBA degree does not garantee a manager's position. Since you are technical savvy, you should spend more time learning how to manage a project efficiently on the job. This is your ticket to the management track by displaying leadership capability and management skills.
2) There is nothing wrong with being aggressive at work. But you need to align your goals with those of the supervior and the team. A better way of improve yourself is to ask feedbacks from your supervisor related to ) how you can be better at your current leverl; 2) What is expected at a higher level; 3) What is the biggest hurdle for you to be promoted to the higher level. Once these questions were answered in detail, there is only time and hard work in-between you and your promotion.
