You are not PM. Why should you be responsible for the project? I am confused.
If you are the key person to finish the job, this India PM will beg your effort, since you are not his direct report and he can not hang your performance over your head with this project. If the project delayed, the PM's ass will be kicked badly, not yours.
However, I feel you have an attitude problem here. You should smile and be "nice" to them most of time (on open conflict). What they can accuse you is on some particular task you might not finish on time. You should refutal back and complain the poor project management, etc. Do your work but don't put extra effort in it. Do the PM told you to do and don't give any suggestions for better result. Keep secret to yourself. You do all this in a professional way, and still maintain a good "relationship".
