"他上來就說是HR和他推薦的我": - why not praise him having a very special ability to find talent, such as xxx, xxx, etc. Certainly you are talented as well. haha.

"辦公室裏擺滿了孩子的照片" - why not talking about the layoff has put lots of stress to families with kids, etc, and your kids (assumption) will affected as well. certainly he will be insterested to talk all the hobbies about his kids, etc. this topic will last at least 20 minutes (j/k).

"就問了下我還有沒有麵試別的工作" - NO! I don't have any interview opportunities. I love this company, and I want to work here!!

事先的功課 is important, and interview skills is very important too.
