You're finding excuses for yourself. If they were non-Chinese, we'd hear you citing culture, language etc.

They are doing what they see is the best for them. If that's not what you see is the best for you, for the lab, and even for themselves, YOU need to do something to convince them that your vision is correct and best for them too. Why should anyone listen to you, if there're no perceived benefits of doing so, or no negative consequences of not doing so?

It's fine to rant about what an idiot or moron everyone else is. At the end of the day though, you have to act if you want things to change, or if you are expected to change things.
