You don't want to alienate voters, then you can't propose anything dramatic or moving anyone's cake away.
Deficit, unemployment rate, economy growth, those are the key issues. You need to cut spending and earn more. But how? Nobody has an answer, or nobody can say anything meaningful loud. At least, Obama is saying he's going to raise some tax on some people and some business. Romney just ran empty mouth promising no tax raise, but he won't say how he will get it paid.
