Search the web, see if you could find a free C compiler.
MPLAB ide has editor for C or assembly language (8 bit, 16 bit or 32 bit), complier and programming tool (you have to have a hardware programmer to connect it via USB yourself) built in free.
There are some other compliers like CCS, MikroC, you have to pay for.
You could go to google search for codes. Most likely whatevery you need could be found easily.
Go to youtube, you would probably find how to use MPLAB or XIDE.
