One woman was killed and two people were hospitalized after a head-on crash in West Miami-Dade Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

One woman was killed and two people were hospitalized after a head-on crash in West Miami-Dade Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened shortly after 5 a.m. on Krome Avenue near 88th Street.

A Toyota SUV was driving northbound on Krome when it collided with a Volvo SUV that was driving southbound, the FHP said.

The woman behind the wheel of the Toyota was killed at the scene. Two people in the Volvo were air lifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The FHP said it was unknown which car crossed into the wrong traffic lanes. The crash is still being investigated.
