I was hit by a truck from the back the other day. The other driver just left after the accident. But the car behind him (my witness) saw it and recorded his plate number. I reported to police and my insurance.
Today I got a call from my insurance asking me if i knew how the witness got the car's plate number. My insurance told me that it is important because if the witness got the number at the accident spot, then it is creditable. But if the witness followed him and got the number in a parking lot, then it is not creditable, which means my insurance can't do anything because I have only liabilities. If I want to take the other car to court, I have to do it all by myself.
I was like, what a world! Even if you got a witness, the criminal can still get away. No wonder Simpson was not considered as guilty.
