when you see there are many cars coming close, you cannot merge in safely, then you need to wait until the upcoming traffic is clear.  During this period of time, you don't have fully stop like in front of a stop sign, you can move forward very slowly, though it's not good idea nor necessary. anyway, "yield" means "你得讓他們先走“
