the system must be smarter than we think.

I have a MB GL, it does have the break over-ride system, but I can still ride on break, because when you go offroad, and when you have to climb over something like log, you must hold the break and apply the gas so the car will move very slow, without the break, the suspension will hit the log after the car run over, and damage the suspension. Maybe the break over-ride system know what I was doing at the moment and did not kick in? It must be smarter than we think.
Another example is when I stop at an uphill interception, waiting for a red light, I have my foot on break; when the green light on, I release the break and move my foot to gas, but there will be a 1 second delay for the engine to send out power. And the car knows that, so it will automaticly hold the break for me for about 2 seconds to prevent the slide, although the break is hold by the car at the moment, I can easilly push the gas and move forward.
