南柯子 憶舊 – 張揮 （法號仲殊）

Nankezi: Reminiscing the Past by Zhang Hui (Dharma Name: Zhongshu)

 

十裏青山遠，

潮平路帶沙。

數聲啼鳥怨年華。

又是淒涼時候，

在天涯。

 

The green mountains roll on for ten long miles,

The trail turns sandy when the tide recedes.

A few bewailing birds mourn how fast time proceeds,

Again, such cheerless, chilly season —

I drift like rootless weeds...

白露收殘月，

清風散曉霞。

綠楊堤畔問荷花：

記得年時沽酒，

那人家？

 

To the white dew the fading moonlight yields,

To sweeping breeze the rosy dawn concedes.

By the willow-dike, with the lotus my heart pleads   

“Canst thou recall that year I lingered there for wine —

Which house my mind still heeds?
