唐  杜牧   【贈別】二首之二

多情卻似總無情，唯覺樽前笑不成。

蠟燭有心還惜別，替人垂淚到天明。

Deep, is my love, too deep to be seen,

Drink the drink, how could I keep smiling?

Even the candle had its heart tendering

to grieve at our parting, it started burning

burning its heart out, into tears it kept melting

with every drop hanging, till dawn, for me, hanging...

 

注：最後一字 hanging 有上吊的意思。。。
