那幸福的閃電告訴我的

我將告訴每一個人

In the morning we went to Chinatown in Denver. I guess all the small Chinatowns in the States are similar except those in big cities. A restaurant serves meals “morning tea”, mostly Canton style. The uniqueness of Denver though is about the long main street with lots of stores, cafes and restaurants. The city runs a very frequent bus line along the street for free. So you can get on and off wherever and whenever. Of course there is a World Trade Center plaza with Twin Towers – that reminded me of the comment by a friend after 911: “those damn terrorists! I have never been in New York and now I have got no chance to see the Twin Towers. ”There was a heavy black cloud coming in to cover half of the sky and moving toward the other half. Light snow fell to the street and could not hold on before quickly melting itself. Sitting in the café we watched people walking around in the street. Café has its own culture in the States; it is more of a European style to enjoy yourself by doing nothing. With a computer or a book you can easily spend half a day browsing the internet or reading something. In this simple and plain life and world you really want to have some time without any worries, at least for a short while, before you get back to the routines.

Afternoon we visited the beautiful tiny downtown of Boulder. Very clean streets, unique rock statues, friendly crowds, crazily blooming flowers, and more. All these were further painted by the beautiful golden sunlight. Without any doubt one can easily sense and feel the ease of mind when wandering in there, and gets melted into part of it.

Evening was my Rockets game 7: a loss and a goodbye to the season. Rockets basketball was the only reason for me to get the cable service. For a long time, I had been watching each and every game of it and reading the Houston Chronicle articles the next day. After so many ups and downs on the court and referee debates off the court, it was time to end the war. They were heading for the beach to join Kenny Smith’s fishing team. My next mission now was to cheer for the Suns to beat the Mavs.

I start to feel miserable in writing this. Where is the joy? Where is the beauty? Where is the touch? Where is the pain?

I guess I need some time to distill those things before putting them on the innocent white paper, or screen, whatever.

So be it.
