伊恩。馬林被譽為在他那一代人中最激動人心的指揮之一，他生於羅馬尼亞，在羅馬尼亞受的正規的音樂教育和指揮訓練，1986年離開羅馬尼亞，入籍奧地利，曾在維也納國家歌劇院人指揮，世界許多著名的交響樂團都留下了他的身影， 以指揮歌劇聞名，交響樂指揮也很出名，以指揮後浪漫主義時期， 二十世紀的交響樂為主。

知道她這個名字，也是因為昨晚去看了一場非常精彩的音樂晚會，由世界著名女高音Angela Gheorghiu 和男高音Marius Manea演唱， 伊恩。馬林指揮的晚會，他的指揮讓人耳目一新：幹淨利落，輕鬆瀟灑而不輕狂， 音樂高潮時，他狂如一隻奔跑的猛虎，整個音樂廳都要飛起來似的； 可有時樂隊越演越烈，他突然刹車，像一隻輕盈的小鳥， 站在那不動了，讓刹不住車的樂隊自行滾動向前，直到最後一個音符。他的指揮，有鬆有弛，很有節奏， 不沉重，可又沒有讓樂隊失控，很有美感，看他的指揮，美就像一個頑皮的孩子在玩什麽Game, 台上台下都輕鬆興奮，就是我坐得比較遠，都感受到他的魅力。

Ion Marin

The Romanian-born conductor, Ion Marin, received his musical training as a composer, conductor and pianist at the George Enescu Academy in Bucharest, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

After leaving his homeland of Rumania in 1986, Ion Marin became one of the most interesting composers on today´s music scene, and currently lives as an Austrian citizen in Switzerland. During his first engagement as a resident conductor at the Vienna State Opera (during Claudio Abbado's administration as director) he conducted a large repertoire of works ranging from Mozart to Alban Berg in the years between 1987 and 1991. He developed his outstanding reputation in the symphonic field - especially in late romantic and 20^th century works - by conducting such sterling ensembles as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Montréal Symphony, the Orchestre National de France and the Dresden Staatskapelle. He has worked with such prominent soloists as Yo-Yo Ma, Gidon Kremer, Martha Argerich, Sarah Chang, Yuri Bashmet and Frank Peter Zimmermann.

Ion Marin, equally at home in the symphonic and operatic field, has already conducted new productions at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the San Francisco Opera and the Opéra Bastille in Paris to mention but a few. He has conducted such well-known vocal artists as Jessye Norman, Plácido Domingo, Angela Gheorghiu, Cecilia Bartoli and Dmitry Hvorostovsky and collaborated with stage directors like Giorgio Strehler, Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, Roman Polansky, Germon and Harry Kupfer.

Ion Marin's discography has already earned three Grammy nominations, the German Recording Prize and the Diapason Palme d´Or. He received the 2004 Alfred Schnittke Award for his extraordinary services to contemporary music.
