如果我要表達很羞愧地承認或者是不得不承認，應該用哪個句式？

舉個例子，我想表達說我很羞愧地告訴你(或者是不得不向你承認)這件盜竊公司文件的事是他幹的，雖然他是我的同胞。這裏應該用it's embarrassing to admit that ......嗎？

我以前以為用it's a shame that ，結果發現這句式表達的是很遺憾的意思。
