對Miss Baker的描述：

A subdued impassioned murmur was audible in the room beyond and Miss Baker leaned forward, unashamed, trying to hear.
-- 這兒“unashamed”是諷刺Miss Baker不知羞恥。

‘You mean to say you don’t know?’ said Miss Baker, honestly surprised. ‘I thought everybody knew.’
-- 這兒用的“honestly surprised”能讓人覺得她Miss Baker經常是裝的驚奇。
