被警察

昨天晚上9點多回家，抄近路從公園走。有一車在speed limit 30的地方開15-20，後麵緊跟一輛警車，我們跟在警車後麵。慢車後來拐彎走了，警車停下等我們走後，開始閃燈，老公停了一下見他們沒反應接著走（我們沒有做錯任何事情），警車閃燈又打手電跟上來。--我們停車等警察--警察要求把引擎關掉。邊問為什麽停了又走邊往車裏用手電亂掃，我們大人小孩都係著安全帶，他嘰裏咕嚕一通隻說我們的大燈照到他的後視鏡刺到他的眼睛（大概是我們剛才跟他太近了，而且公園的路不是平的）。然後沒事走人。老公在發動車子後隻打近光燈，我問他這樣你能開嗎？

路上想著真是不爽，但是多一事不如少一事，和警察打交道好像也是不能完全避免的事情。想著我的英文還不是那麽靈光，隻是說明還好，要辯解就遜了。

請教這裏的高手：萬一被警察攔下了，怎樣應付比較合適？先解釋還是就要求翻譯比較高？有口誤小事變大就冤了。
