In legal language, a debt usually refers to a legal judgment that says you owe others money.  The judgment could be from the case that you borrowed money, didn't pay your bills, but also can be from case that you are liable for your negligence or intentional harm, or because your divorce paper says you owe child support.  Doesn't matter, transfer property in order to avoid debt (carrying out a legal judgment) is fraudulent conveyance. 

I mean, it is easy to find out if you hid money.  They will just ask for your bank account statements since the date of the accident, any large amount of money you transferred out has to have a legitimate reason.
