2008年5月21日，奧運火炬手章子怡現身戛納舉行神秘記者會。會場上，章子怡宣布已經籌得善款50萬美元，自己目標是100萬美元。接受記者群訪時，章子怡幾度落淚，現場更有記者喊出“中國加油”等口號鼓勵在場的國人。一起現身戛納善款記者會的還有章子怡的富豪男友，以及好友高曉鬆。
