Police identify body found in pond
The body of a man found in a pond off South Milledge Avenue Sunday has been identified as a 29-year-old University of Georgia graduate student who had been missing for two weeks, UGA police said.
Yongsheng Li was found floating in the pond on university property between the State Botanical Gardens and UGA's soccer/softball complex by an elderly couple out for an afternoon stroll with their dog, according to police.
There were no obvious signs of foul play, UGA police said, and Li's body was sent to the Georgia Bureaus of Investigation's State Crime Lab where an autopsy will be performed tomorrow to determine the cause of death.
