Hachi: a dog’s story

Maybe it was fate that Parker, a music profession, found and adopted Hachi, a puppy who happened to be transported from Japan and yet was lost in a small town station. They seemed to quite understand and match with each other except that Hachi was not able to fetch the ball though Parker taught him for thousands of times. When Hachi grew up as a handsome dog, they became best friends. It was not uncommon that dogs show loyalty to their masters. However, in this touching movie converted from a true story in Japan, Hachi manifested his loyalty to Parker to an extreme.

No idea since when, Hachi developed a habit of seeing Parker off and picking him up at the station. They enjoyed this event quite well. Unfortunately, Parker died of a heart arrest on his class. Hachi never met him at the station anymore. However, Hachi insisted on waiting for him day after day and year after year. Even after Parker’s daughter adopted him and moved him with their family, he ran back to the station waiting at the same location. The waiting lasted for 10 years. Hachi changed from a handsome young dog into an old one. People in the town were so touched by his incredible loyalty that they took care of him and treated him as their old friend. Hachi died peacefully after 10 years of waiting.

Apparently, Hachi was very smart. He seemed to predict the death of Parker. He barked and showed Parker his trick of fetching the ball for the first time the day Parker passed away. He was rather to be a homeless dog staying under an old train than living with Parker’s daughter. The reason was obvious he just wanted to be his old master and best friend.

Hachi is a real hero as he is loyal to his maser until the end of his life.
