After arriving at school, I turned on my computer and tried to check my emails as usual. However, when the yahoo homepage showed up, I was shocked and scared. A young man was just pointing at me with a gun . I almost screamed out in the quiet early morning for it was so real. As I got my consciousness back several seconds later, I realized that the young man was the heartless, cold-blood murderer. His videos, pictures and letters mailed to NBC disclosed his motivation of the tragic massacre. The picture I saw was one of the clips from his video.

I really got lost why the media posted this picture. What did they try to tell people? Was he a hero? Was the verbal description of what he did not merciless enough? Are there not too many of similar posts in this country and worldwide? The censorship has been use to rate movies, TV programs and even books, is it necessary and the right time for the internet to be censored too? The purpose of establishing censorship is to protect people, especially young children, to receive proper information. Unfortunately, the real life can never be blocked by any kind of censorship. People have to face the bloody facts.

As a Christian, one of my colleague believed the guy would definitely be punished even he killed himself. He would pay for it somewhere else if not on this planet. But what about those innocents? Thirty-two young girls and boys, who just started their beautiful life, were killed for no reason at all. Would God give them a second life? I kept thinking those families who lost their kids in the massacre. How do they lead their future life? Can they really get over from the tragedy? Whom should they blame on? If I were one of them, what would I do? Is banning gun an effective way? What has been missed in education?

Before going back home, one of my friends told me she trained her daughter how to deal with the gun shooting at school. Incredibly, instead of groveling on the ground and hiding in a safe place as her mother taught, the 7-year-old girl thought she could shun the bullets like showing in cartoons or movies, such as Matrix. Sigh………….

Life is a miracle. None is able to live it over again. Respect life and treasure life, yours and others'.

Helen,

It is hard for me to understand why one could be so insane that the only way to solve his problem is shooting.

My colleague seemed not as astonished as I did. He has experienced several unusual deaths so far. One of his cousins drowned, the other shot himself. To him, those innocents showed up at the wrong place and wrong timing.

Hard for me to imagine the kid would never be back after saying goodbye in the morning.
blhw72 回複 悄悄話 Melly, the Korean boy--VT gunman, himself, is indeed a tragedy.

However, he created his own tragedy and became a victim of himself. Nobody on the earth has the right to kill innocents.

America, again, broke the fairy of the safest country in the world besides 911. Gun control is imminent. Unfortunately, the Republican would do nothing about it.
