I never thought it happened to me. My dearest Jetta was damaged by theft.
I did not know when it happened until I was informed by the manager that a police officer was waiting for me downstairs. He said briefly it was about my car. Since the parking garage was not spacious, I guessed the bumper might be scratched or deformed. However, when I saw my car, I was shocked. One of its windows was totally smashed. The smashed glasses were all over the ground with a city map and a Chinese newspaper. The right turning light was broken. The car was obviously moved. Apparently, somebody tried to steal my car.
The police officer asked me several questions, such as how often I drove my car, when was the last time I drove it. Then he asked me to check if something in my car was stolen. My volunteer vest was there. The remote control for the garage door was there. So were my sunglasses and ID. It seemed like nothing was taken away. Then I found the locks did not function well. I could only unlock one door with my car key while I supposed to unlock all 4 doors. And when I opened the door, the alarm was on. I was embarrassed because I did not know how to stop the alarm. I was totally freaked out. Finally, I found I could not start my car at all, which completely pissed me off. It was totally beyond my experiences.
I am the second own to my car but my car is the first one since I came to this country. Like the first marriage, I love my car. I bought it in the winter of 2002. She severed me to many places pretty well. For instance, I drove it to
I am not the worst victim. Our manager’s car, and even his snow sweeper, was gone. However, I was apparently one of the “luckiest” because the manager told me it never happened before, i.e. this was the first time within about 10 years. Isn’t it a good time for me to buy a lottery?
There is a Chinese saying: 破財免災。I wish it will really do. It turns out an unforgettable Christmas gift I have ever had.
