Grey's Anatomy

I finished Grey’s Anatomy Season 2. It is really a good TV show, at least for me. Not only because all stories are related to medicine and hospital, but also it talks about life.

The story is basically about 5 young interns, about their medical practice and personal lives and about live and death, love and betray as well. They come from different places with different backgrounds. But they share the same goal, being a good surgeon.  The leading role is Dr. Grey. She is a pretty, kind-hearted young lady. As a intern, she is smart, wise and brave. However, her personal life is not very smooth. She falls in love with the world class neurosurgeon Dr. Shepherd, who is  her boss and a married man. Their love is not acceptable and he is not willing to give up his marriage. They have to hide their passions and treat each other as best friends. The audiences can feel the passion inside their bodies and hearts based on the twists and turns in their friendship. They use their own way to express their deep love and concern. Love does not mean everything, but keep people alive, active and energetic. Marriage and family mean a lot, especially responsibility, even if the passion is gone.

Dr. Yang is an Asian-American young lady. She is strong, determine and goal-oriented. Her only dream is to be the best surgeon. She is overwhelmed by this purpose. She also has a love affair with her boss Dr. Burke, a decent and nice African-American cardiologist. She is sort of cold outside but lovely inside. She is not like average women cry again and again when Burke is shot. But she cried uncontrollably after they confirmed her diagnosis and when Burke held her into his arms. She is like a little kitty finally find her comfort at that time. The relationship between Yang and Burke is sort of weird to me. It is hard to see the passion between them but rational and sober thinking.

The 3rd lady surgical intern is Dr. Stevens, who was an underwear model before entering the program. She is very pretty with big eyes and blonde long hair. Her experiences of living in poor area established her tough personality. She is kind of jealous of Dr. Grey, who might get favors because of her special relationship with boss and also because of her famous surgeon mother. She is a life-loving girl since she is the only person to prepare for thanksgiving dinner and Christmas ornaments. However, she gets her emotion involved into her patients too much, which drives her to worsen Denny, her boyfriend and patient’s heart disease in order to get the transplant heart. Denny dies finally due to blood clog. She is not able to compose herself anymore and quit the program.

Dr. O’malley and  Dr. Karev are two male interns in this group. O’malley is a very good-natured guy. He is slow and maybe sort of stupid. However, he is royal and faithful. He is in love with Grey from the first glance. But he always keep distance until one night they crosses the line. He is a good listener. He always try to comfort the girls when their expectations have been ruined. He is the kind of guy, whom one may ignore but will gradually pay attention and like.  Dr. Karev behaviors like a dude but he is honest. However, the honesty may not be appropriated all the time in the hospital. So he often gets into trouble.

My favorite person in this play is Dr. Bailey , the Nazi, although she is only a supporting role. She is a wonderful woman. She is a good supervisor, who is strict to her interns in training their medical practice, and try hard to protect them when they do something right but against rules. She is a hard-worker, who works until her baby boy was born and during her maternity leave. She is smart and obtains 4 fellowships. She is like a good friend and elder sister and very helpful when colleagues have personal problems. People respect her and love her. This is a very charming part.

Life is short but beautiful. Slowing down a little bit, one will find the beauty is just around you.
